Coalition of public associations created in Babrujsk

Seven public associations in Babrujsk created the coalition for cooperative work during future election campaign. The main goal of the coalition is to contribute to the democratic development of the region by means of active public participation at the elections to the Chamber of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus. There were worked out the format and regulations of the coalition work, which is open for cooperation with other organizations.

The head of the public initiative “Svaja Sprava” Aleś Čyhir has pointed out that the coalition is going to organize a mobilization campaign in Babrujsk region as well as to work in cooperation with election commissions.

The “third sector” in Babruisk has a very valuable experience in working in coalitions. Since presidential elections almost all pro-democratic NGOs of Babruisk have been working together. During election campaign to local counsels there was created a coalition “Social Agreement”.

At present time the following organizations have already joined the Babrujsk coalition: “Svaja Sprava”, “Belarusan Popular Front “Revival”, “Association of Handicaps”, Babrujsk branches of human rights defense center “Viasna”, “Tavarystva Fiłamataŭ” (Society of Philomates), “Belarusian Association of Working Women”, “Belarusian Association of Journalists”.
